We see this often when inspecting decks or porches. The issue is bearing is not correct. It becomes even more critical when the structure extends to a second story. The weight being supported by the post should be constructed so it is centered on the concrete column. When the posts are offset on the column, the compressed load is not properly pushing on the intended foundation support. When this happens the structure could fail more quickly. #Structure#Compression
